Corporate Feather Smoothing

We've been working with lots of local businesses in between  wedding work.  DellaBlooms joined a local women's networking group here in Howard County and we have met so many wonderful business owners through this organization.  Sometimes as business owners we mess up, say something we regret, or don't deliver what we've promised to our customers.  Mistakes happen so that's when sending flowers to your client as a way of smoothing their ruffled feathers is a no brainer.
Recent arrangements I've sent on behalf of clients  say "Thank-You for your referral" some say "Congratulations!" others "We're sorry for goofing up and thank you for your patience" and the list goes on and on.  If you're not sure what to say in your note to your friend, family or client call me to discuss it and I'd be glad to assist you.   DellaBlooms is in the business of making YOU look good, whether you're ruffling or smoothing feathers.

Design Video-Weddings invitations in Howard County, MD

Today as spring approaches and everything is in some stage of bloom I thought I'd share a lovely video showing some glamorous papers, flower design, table settings, cakes etc. all designed around and featuring couture fabric by Kristy Rice of Monumental Design.  Her fabric is aptly named Trellis.  Watching the sketching portion of this video makes me want to go grab my pen and sketchpad and draw a spring tree. Oh and check out the pastry chef painting with watercolors directly onto the wedding cake.    http://vimeo.com/35472707  Kristy's wedding invitations are unique and memorable.

For local Howard County bride's I can recommend several places to get wonderful design work for your save-the-dates, invitations, and other paper goods.  As a floral designer I get to see many styles of invitations and each one conveys a theme chosen by the bride and groom and their style, passion, and design shines through to their guests.

It's a great idea to bring your save-the-date and or invitation when you meet with me for floral and event design.  It's just one more element to assist in finding the perfect flowers for your wedding day.
Tell me your favorite part of print materials used in your wedding, I'd love to hear about them and who designed them.

Enjoy the spring weather!  Did you ever notice it's almost impossible to say the word "Spring!" without smiling?

And here comes the bride's bouquet!

Home for the Holidays/Howard County Floral and Interior Design

Right before Christmas Dellablooms collaborated with Debbie McHale of Interior Transformations in a new community, Patuxent Chase in Howard County.
A festive cube of roses, orchids, berries, and holdiay evergreens adorns the opulent table setting.
Gallery 44 provided some gorgeous artwork to showcase the table settings shown here.

Toll Brother's home builders does a fabulous job of not only building gorgeous homes but also helping residents feel at home in their new neighborhood.  One of the ways they accomplish this is by hosting a Holiday lunch in their model on a Saturday where all the current residents and the ones who've not moved in yet get together.  It was festive and fun and a great opportunity for residents to meet professionals who can make their house a home with interior design and flowers.  We enjoyed sharing ways to decorate for the Holidays with place settings along with flowers and linens to create everything from an opulent feel, a family gathering and even a kid's table.

What a team!

Above we are standing next to an everlasting piece by DellaBlooms for one of Debbie's client's home. They wanted a Holiday arrangement for a center table in their foyer. We staged the piece at the model home event right before delivery.  Adding dried hydrangeas along with berries, lilys and magnolia gives gorgeous dimension and life to the everlastings in this deep hued ceramic pot.

Overall this was such a fun day speaking to home owners about Interior Transformation's full-service interior design and DellaBlooms and Gifts floral and event design.

Soft Champagne in Howard County Wedding Flowers

Soft Champagne was the color scheme for a bride who knew exactly what she wanted in flowers and design for her wedding at this favorite spot in Howard County, The King's Contrivance Restaurant. Close to Rt. 29 is a beautiful inn where it seems time stands still. Heather and Erick's wedding was an intimate gathering of friends and family but elegant in the details.

Heather's bouquet was designed with lots of texture and soft hues.
The reception center pieces featured Amnesia and Sandstorm roses, artichokes, and hypericum berries, seeded eucalyptus and other lovely flowers in glass cubes lined with leaves.

The cake was topped with flowers of the day including scabiosa pods.  Soft, softness, softer....

Heather was a gorgeous DellaBlooms bride.
Erick was our tallest groom yet and we almost had to stand on tip-toes to pin his cymbidium orchid boutonierre on his lapel.
Best wishes to Heather and Erick for a life-long beautiful love.

Details, details, details/Glen Echo Park Wedding Coordinator

Last weekend DellaBlooms worked with an amazing bride to execute an amazing wedding. Julie wanted lots of texture in the flowers, the fabrics, and vessels used in the designs. The venue was a public historic amusement park in Glen Echo, MD. Everything was brought to the site and care was taken to leave it in it's pristine state.

Lighted paper lanterns hovered over the dance floor while filmy teal fabric and lights covered the exposed cinder blocks below the stage where the DJ resided.

Even though the park services does not allow open flames we were able to import enough lighting to give the Bumper Car Pavillion a soft warm glow.

More scrumptious details to come......
